GAH!!!

What is UP with all these damn “Over the Rainbow” remixes and their FUCKING WRONG LYRICS???

I swear to God I am going to punch someone…

IN THE EYE

WITH A RUSTY SPOON

I love that sweet ukelele version of the song, but I HATE that they don’t sing the DAMN RIGHT LYRICS!!!!

Like it’s so hard??? Have you never seen The Wizard of Oz??? Are you TOO STUPID TO REMEMBER THE LYRICS TO ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS SONGS IN ALL OF ETERNITY???

GODDAMMIT!!!

HERE ARE THE DAMN LYRICS. ANYONE YOU HEAR SINGING IT DIFFERENTLY IS WRONG AND SHOULD BE STABBED IN THE NECK WITH A PENCIL (or pen, whichever you have handy).

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There’s a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can’t I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I?

WTF IS SO HARD ABOUT THAT??? SING THE RIGHT LYRICS ASSHOLES!!!!

GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111

You know, the only thing that got me going to look for those ukelele covers was the Jason Mraz song “I’m Yours,” which begins much the same way, and always reminds me of the song. Then I started listening to all the covers and thinking “Why the fuck won’t they sing the right lyrics? Did they just record it like that, forget the right lyrics, and were just too lazy to change it???”

And DON’T tell me that Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s version is “charming,” because then I really will come to your house and stab you in the eye with a rusty spoon. It’s wrong. It’s not a true cover. It’s some guy singing along to a ukelele the WRONG lyrics to two songs that he has heard on the radio or on TV a few times. It pisses me off. It would have been charming if he had used the correct lyrics, but as it is, infuriating.

GAH

So Good

Have you seen the newest “Pride and Prejudice”? You should. It’s very, VERY good. They keep playing it on Oxygen, and I watch it every single time. Even if it’s on two times in a row. I watch it EVERY SINGLE TIME.

At first, when I heard they were making another one, I was like “blah blah blah been done what could they possibly do different?” And Kiera Knightley? Skepticism reigned.

The nice thing about Jane Austen is that her books can be interpreted many ways, this one being a very good adptation of the novel. The 1995 version with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth was good as well, but I will tell you what I think makes this one just a titch better…

The soundtrack. I can’t stop thinking about it. I even downloaded it on Napster. Most of it is this beautiful piano music that is so hauntingly beautiful. At this amazon page, they allow you to listen to samples. I recommend “Liz on top of the world” and “Mrs Darcy.” They are easily two of the most beautiful.

Enjoy.

Stupid Sweet Sixteen

Did anyone watch Hell’s Kitchen tonight?

I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I don’t usually watch the show, but this episode spoke to me in a way that few others have…they hosted a Sweet Sixteen party. How was this amusing, you ask? Well…I’ll tell you…

First of all, I would just like to say that TV shows like “My Super Sweet Sixteen” are why people hate America…(yeah, you’ve heard that somewhere before, I just can’t remember where). These kids are spoiled, and will probably contribute nothing to society, because they have never had to live in the “real world.”

Yes, I stereotype, but it is difficult not to when you hear a teenager scream at her mom because she bought her a blue Bentley instead of a black one…

So I watched this show with relish. (no pun intended)

The girl’s mom looked like she had just had about four billion dollars worth of Botox injected into her face. She could hardly speak, she had no lips, and I could have sworn I saw clothespins holding her cheeks taut… While they were decorating, the mom came in and was like “I have a vision…and this is not what my vision was.”

I suppose if you have enough money, you can act as freak-like as you want.

The birthday girl ordered a steak, medium, and complained when she didn’t like her steak that looked a lot like medium to me…

The girl’s mom was all upset because her fish was dry.

Lame.

Oh, we’re sorry that our chefs couldn’t cook the fish to the same specifications as the cook does at your house. Maybe you should try cooking sometime, lady. I bet the steam would be good for your pores.

No wonder everybody hates America.

New Movies

We saw “Drillbit Taylor” this past weekend. It was freakin’ hilarious. I was in a bad mood when we went, so I didn’t laugh nearly as much as I would have liked to, but looking back on the movie, it really was hysterical.

There are so many new movies coming out that I would like to see. “The Dark Knight,” for one (new Batman movie), even though it will be bittersweet to see Heath Ledger up there and know that it was one of his last roles…but I bet Christian Bale will be uber hot. The new Indiana Jones movie…

and…

wait for it…

A live action World of Warcraft movie!!! OMG!!!

Yeah, I’m one of about three girls who actually play WoW of my own volition and not because my boyfriend/husband/butch lesbian lover told me to. In fact, I am the longest-playing person in my entire house!! I have had a WoW account since November of 2004, and I have been a member of my current guild since July of 2005 (which is a long time, in WoW years).

Not much information about it exists, but I expect more info to be presented at this year’s Blizzcon. :)

TODAY IS A SAD DAY

A sad, sad day…

RIP Omega Man…
